Event Description
The McLean County Extension Office invites farmers and agricultural producers to attend the Young Farmer Academy on February 25th from 8:00 AM to Noon. This educational program is designed to provide practical tools, research-based information, and real-world strategies to help producers strengthen their operations and prepare for the future.
Participants will hear from industry professionals and specialists on key topics impacting today’s agriculture, including emerging technology, soil and water management, and chemical safety.
Featured sessions include:
- Trent Jackson and Rob Nalley with Beck’s – “Technology on the Horizon”
Exploring new tools and innovations shaping modern agriculture. - George Goodwin – “Letting Your Roots Breathe: Wind and Water”
Focusing on soil health, drainage, and managing environmental challenges. - Chemical Safety Session – “Managing and Safety”
Covering best practices for handling, storing, and using agricultural chemicals safely.
This program is ideal for beginning farmers, young producers, and experienced operators looking to sharpen their skills, improve efficiency, and protect their investment.
